At BMA, we always encourage our students to take advantage of performance opportunities and strive to create them throughout the year. Performing is a great way for students - both beginner and advanced - to have the chance to sharpen their playing abilities, set goals and develop confidence on stage.

We host two major recitals each year, in December and May/June. Performance is completely voluntary, though strongly encouraged, even for young beginners.

Past concerts have been hosted at Sacred Heart HS Theatre in Stittsville, ON, a state-of-the-art auditorium with professional sound and lighting equipment, a beautiful grand piano and seating for up to 700 guests.

Many of our past concerts can be seen on the Barrhaven Music Academy YouTube Channel.

Next scheduled recital: May/June 2017

Coffeehouses & Fundraisers

Along with our biannual recitals, we enjoy hosting regular coffeehouses during the year in support of a local or Canadian charity, such as Stem Cells for Brynn and LiveDifferent. Coffeehouses, which are smaller in venue and audience size then our concerts, give students the opportunity to gain performance experience in a more intimate setting and often have the opportunity to showcase two or three of their favorite songs!

Check out the Barrhaven Music Academy YouTube Channel for clips of past events.
